Steve Wilson Rocks
Music and Kayaking in Southern California
Welcome

In February 1963 I watched the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show. I remember that night with unusual clarity. I started playing the guitar soon after.

Introduced to Sea Kayaking in 1999. I have been inspired by the power and beauty of the ocean. Like-minded friends dance across the surface of the oceans around the world.

“Hull Cracker” is a collection of songs I have written about kayaking and the friends I've made on the water.

This site is dedicated to kayakers everywhere. I have been playing at kayak events for years now. My kayak friends have bugged me about recording a kayak song album for years now, as well. When it came time to put the album out they all jumped in to help.

There would be no web site without “The Web Master” and skin boat dancer, the legendary Lee Shurie. The Home page photos were supplied by Mark Sanders. He shot them in The Black Canyon and at Lake Mead. Mark has also donated music videos and helped on many aspects of the project.

Duane Strosaker designed the CD cover, and entire CD package. His help is invaluable. Paula Chavez snapped the back cover photo at the Southwest Kayak Symposium beach party. The inside photo was take by Duane on one of our many crossing to Catalina. You can see Catalina in the background.

Jen Keck has been harassing me for year “Where’s the album”. Jen lets me perform at every kayak event Aqua Adventures puts on. She is throwing the Premier party for “Hull Cracker” at her shop and secured the deli next door for the concerts. She is a five star friend. Avalon Jon Brindle, Long time paddling buddy and current Bay-to-Bay kayak champ is hosting the morning La Jolla to AA paddle for the premier. Ken Fry and Barb Tomita have opened up there home for the Orange County release party. Up north Bev Waldrin, Lee Shurie, Patrick Martin, Peter O’Sullivan, and the rest of the “Old Farts are planning a big paddle/ release party in Channel Island harbor.

I am humbled by your generosity and endless support,
Steve “Hull Crackr” Wilson
